Kris Kringle Free Crochet Pattern

Hello, all!

Today I have a holiday pattern for you worked in the traditional amigurumi method (i.e. in the round!). This Kris Kringle/Saint Nick/Santa Claus pattern was really fun to create and I hope you enjoy it!

I used some of the classic beloved claymation Christmas movies as my inspiration, specifically the movies “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” (my favourite!) and, of course, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”.

The Details

The finished measurements are approximately 25cm/10″ tall.

The body is made in continuous rounds from the bottom up (i.e. do not chain 1 or join at the end of rounds unless directed). Place a stitch marker at the beginning of each round.

Let’s get started! (Or Pin/Shop for later!)

    1. It’s worked in the round. You’re basically making a small tube on either side of the beard to create the sideburns.

    1. In round 7, you will skip 7 sts, leaving 3 sts until you reach the beginning of the round. For rows 8-11, continue working only those 3 sts in continuous rounds to create the thumb.

    1. After round 11 you are directed to tie off. Then you will work rnd 12 evenly around the remaining sts of rnd 6 and the thumb.
