I’ve been making tonnes of these cute granny circle ornaments (they are very addictive!) and I’ve had lots of requests for a pattern so I thought I’d post a quick pattern!
They are incredibly quick to work up. My favourite part is choosing the colour combinations. I tend to make two of each colour combination – keeping the middle colour the same but alternating the outside and inside colours for a matching pair. They give such perfect classic vintage vibes!
This pattern is best worked in a light weight (category 3) yarn or smaller to ensure the ornament is actually ornament-sized and not too big (but, of course, you can use any yarn you want and make any size you want!). I tried making some in acrylic yarn as well as cotton yarn and the results are both awesome!
Let’s get into it!
The Details
The ornament is worked in two separate panels worked in the round and then joined together by single crocheting around the panels and then stuffed to make it puffy and adorable.
The Ch 3 counts as a dc.
The finished measurements are approximately 6cm/2.5″ across.
Let’s get started! (Or Pin/Shop for later!)

Move on to assembly below!
Assembly:

- After joining most of the panels, stuff the ornament (optional: leave it unstuffed for a more two-dimensional ornament!)
- Slst to beg st. Fasten off, weave in ends.
- With C, attach a hanging loop through any st.
You’re done!
Happy crocheting!

This is such a pretty pattern; I would love to adapt it into a change purse with a kiss clasp or zipper.
Thanks, Mollie! A change purse is such a great idea for a modification!
